Students in 2nd year of Master of “Cybernetics and Quantitative Economics”, Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics – ASE Bucharest, visiting Farmaceutica REMEDIA
Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. hosted the “Business Logistics” course taught students in second year of the Master program “Cybernetics and Quantitative Economics”, coordinated by Prof. dr. Dr. Virginia MARACINE, on May 14, 2013.
To be closer to the realities of business, rate holders “Business Logistics” in ASE Bucharest have proposed to initiate and promote cooperation with specialists and corporate business, in order to present how to implement new systems of modern logistics.
In opening the seminar “Effective implementation of logistic processes – learn from those who know”, Robert PELOIU, CEO of Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A., presented students the industry requirements and highlighted inconsistencies between these needs and academic preparation of Romanian universities.
To meet the key objectives of the company in logistics, Andrei OPREA, manager of logistics and transport, referred to ways to improve the processes of Logistics, Expenses with budget management and continuous optimization of transport routes.
“Farmaceutica REMEDIA became a partner company in the training of our students in the logistics business. Presentation of real case studies, accompanied by appropriate solutions, enables rapid adaptation to the labor market needs of the students and the correct understanding of the level of training that business requires from them. I noticed in the seminar the importance of integrating logistics processes to expand visibility – end to end – the logistics system. This has made possible the introduction of modern management concepts of Agile, to adapt quickly to constantly changing market conditions and Lean, to streamline processes by eliminating non-value added activities and reduce operational costs implied. We believe that these values of modern business were better understood by young students in training by practical presenting the principles of modern management. Moreover, the share of total logistics costs in turnover is well below the 5% level that would classify as international benchmarks in class Best-in-class performance”, said Dr. George OGRINJA, Economist, Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics and Cybernetics, ASE Bucharest.
“3 years ago, the permanent and concrete cooperation between this course and companies representing logistics business was just a project. Now it is the reality of the natural approach to training our students so diverse and complex issues in the Romanian economy. Increasingly more courses and seminars taught by teachers from the Department of Informatics and Cybernetics graduate students are accompanied by presentations of case studies and practical experience supported even by guests from the business. Three years after the first attempt in this regard, we can say that we made a good thing for both parties – university and the real economy. As Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. has already become a stable partner of Business Logistics course, this year my thanks go to our hosts welcoming heads of this company, for organizing and conducting practical workshop for students of the 2nd year of the Master program “Cybernetics and Quantitative Economics”, Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics. The feedback from students was that practical information provided by representatives of Farmaceutica REMEDIA spot each time contributes substantially to better understanding by students of the concepts and practical mechanisms logistics involved”, said Mrs. Univ. Dr. Virginia MARACINE.
The seminar ended with a visit to the central warehouse of Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. Bucharest, where internal processes to integrate software solutions, product management handling equipment and fleet were presented.
