Listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since 1996 – STANDARD Category, symbol RMAH, Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A., a member of the group of companies, is specialized in sales and distribution of medicines, promotion and marketing activities in the healthcare sector, and it is one of the TOP 10 distributors on the pharmaceutical market.
On the market since 1991, Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. strengthened its position through the merge with the major shareholder, V. TARUS RoAgencies SRL in 2006.
Valentin-Norbert TARUS, the controlling shareholder of the company, has developed strategic partnerships with international manufacturers in the pharmaceutical market, facilitating their success on the Romanian market since 1990.
During 2019-2020, Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. has transferred, with the approval of the Competition Council, 63 pharmacies to Help Net, part of the german Phoenix Group, thus ensuring the investors’ expectations to increase the company’s profitability, as well as the resources to consolidate and develop profitable business lines and innovative projects in the field of health services.
The company is currently operating, at group level, through 23 own pharmacies in Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu and Bucharest counties, of which 22 pharmacies were transferred in November 2024 to Farmaceutica REMEDIA Distribution & Logistics SRL in order to improve and optimize intra-group economic and strategic operational activities.
REMEDIA Metalurgiei 78 Pharmacy, in Bucharest, operates the online platform www.farmacia.remedia.ro., offering a diversified range of para-pharmaceuticals, OTC, medical devices, food supplements, dermato-cosmetics.
In 2022 REMEDIA purchased 50% of the share capital of PHARMA EXPERT SPEDITION S.R.L. for the development and consolidation of distribution and logistics activities, and in January 2025 REMEDIA acquired 24% of the shares of Novoengrama SRL, Cluj-Napoca for the support and growth of profitable activities in the health sector.
As a digital solution for automation and optimization of pharmaceutical processes, REMEDIA, in partnership with BD Rowa™, launched in October 2021 the first Smart robot at the REMEDIA Metalurgiei 78 pharmacy, Bucharest – the first automated pharmacy in Romania and has commissioned 15 robotic systems in pharmacies in Romania and installed 9 robots in Slovakia, Austria, Italy, Germany and Israel.
The company develops the implementation of robots for the automation of pharmaceutical processes and digitalized equipment in pharmacies, hospitals and pharmaceutical warehouses in Romania, Bulgaria and Republic of Moldova.
In order to optimize hospital flows in the process of delivering medication to the patient’s bedside, REMEDIA promotes digitalized medication management solutions, medication traceability and improved patient safety.
Farmaceutica REMEDIA Distribution & Logistics S.R.L. – a company established in 2015 as a result of the legal regulations regarding the separation of wholesale and retail pharmaceutical activities, 100% owned by Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. – is specialized in wholesale distribution, marketing and medical promotion in the health field and operates sales through 3 logistics centers – Deva, Bucharest and Pitesti, on the following business lines:
– Sales to pharmacies and warehouses, with a share of about 53% in the company’s total consolidated turnover, with a national coverage of about 3,000 customers, with a portfolio of over 4,000 items from about 250 suppliers;
– Sales to hospitals, accounting for about 43% of the company’s consolidated turnover and supplying pharmaceutical products to more than 500 public hospitals and private clinics, through attending more than 3,500 tenders per year.
The company also offers associated services for the pharmaceutical market:
– nationwide diversified logistic services for Bayer, Chiesi, Desitin, GL Pharma, Montavit, Novartis, UCB
– marketing and medical promotion services for pharmaceutical companies in various therapeutic areas, pharmaceutical product authorizations, as well as notifications of legislative updates regarding the registration of pharmaceutical products for IQVIA, et al.
